Full-Service Small Animal Health Care Facility and Large Animal Ambulatory Services

Harvard Veterinary Clinic is committed to providing pets in the Harvard area the finest veterinary care possible. Since 1956, pet owners have come to rely on us as a compassionate, skilled partner in the care of their beloved companions. We provide comprehensive preventive and wellness care veterinary services for every stage in your pet’s life, from puppy or kitten through adult and the senior years.

Annual Wellness Exam and Vaccinations

Annual wellness examinations performed by doctors assess vital aspects of the health of your pet on a regular basis.  Examinations of skin, teeth,  heart, lungs, gastrointestinal, and urinary systems on an annual basis allow us to catch abnormalities at an earlier stage and better maintain the health of your pet.

  • New Kitten Exam includes rabies shots, feline distemper shots, feline leukemia shots, and deworming.
  • New Puppy Exam includes vaccinations and a heartworm test.  Heartworm testing MUST be done BEFORE giving heart worm pills.

In-house Diagnostics

Veterinary Diagnostics

We have our own in-house diagnostic imaging equipment that includes digital radiography and ultrasound systems.  This state of the art imaging equipment allows for rapid diagnosis of critical patients.

Routine Veterinary Surgeries

Dog and Cat Surgeries

We perform all routine surgeries. This includes spays, neuters, declaws, abdominal and other general surgeries. All procedures are done under sterile surgical conditions in our operating room. We have various forms of anesthesia that are used. All of the animals are given preoperative pain medication and are maintained with intravenous fluids throughout the surgeries. These animals are also given pain medication after the surgeries are completed. The pain control and the humane treatment of the animals (no matter what type of surgery is done) are of primary care and importance to us.

  • Spay/Neuter surgery
  • Orthopedic surgery including fractures and anterior cruciate ligament ruptures in dogs
  • General veterinary surgery and tumor removal

Veterinary Dentistry for Cats, Dogs and Horses

Veterinary dentistry services performed at our veterinary clinic include routine cleanings, extractions  and other dental procedures.  Maintaining the oral health of your pet is critical to the overall health of your pet.  Routine dental prophylaxis greatly reduces the risk of abscess formation, loss of teeth and the impacts that these dental problems can have on the overall health of your pet. Advanced equine dentistry is available through our ambulatory service.
